The Steering Committee (SC) is harmonizing and coordinating the methodological framework of the WGs, Training Schools (TS), Research Workshops (RW), Interactive Seminars for Stakeholders (ISS), Forum for Young Researchers (FYR), Special Training Sessions (STS), Café Scientific (CS), International Conferences (IC) and Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM). The SC will review the work programme of the WGs. The SC will be responsible for carrying out monitoring and evaluation of the objectives.

I have published and been involved in research about: a) science education in different contexts; b) teaching the nature of science and assessing its understanding; c) professional development of science teachers; d) the discussion of socioscientific issues in science education; and e) ICT integration in science education. I have been involved in research, teacher training and curriculum development projects in Portugal, other European countries, Africa and Brazil.
Dr. Marta R. Ariza is an Associate Professor at the Department of Didactics of Sciences in the University of Jaén, especially interested in research about sustainable development, education and how to enhance science learning through the use of innovative approaches and technological resources. She has been actively engaged in several international projects such as COMPASS, PRIMAS, mascil and PARRISE among others, in the latter, as the leader of the Spanish team.
Jelle is a postdoc reseacher at the edubron research unit in the department of Training and Education Sciences at the University of Antwerp. He has a master’s degree in biology, and a PhD in Educational Sciences. Jelle is also trained as a nature and wildlife guide, and worked as science exhibition developer andere educator. His research interests are conservation psychology, education for sustainable development, STEM education, and informal education.
Dr. NIKLAS GERICKE is currently working as Professor in the Department of Environmental and Life Sciences, Karlstad University, Sweden. NIKLAS GERICKE research interest includes Environmental and Life Sciences and has successfully completed all Administrative responsibilities. NIKLAS GERICKE has authored of many research articles related to Environmental and Life Sciences.
Demetra Hadjichambi currently works at the Environmental Education, Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education. Demetra does research in Science Education, Teacher Education and Didactics. She worked in the Environmental Education at the University of Cyprus.
Andri Christodoulou currently works at the Southampton Education School, University of Southampton. Andri does research in Secondary Education, Teaching Methods and Teacher Education. Their most recent publication is ‘Building teachers’ research literacy: integrating practice and research.’
Head of the Biology education group at Freudenthal Institute. Teaching and research in biology and science education and communication. Currently involved in a design research project concerning strategies for empowering secondary students in decision-making on socio-scientific issues, e.g. synthetic biology. Coordinator of EU project PARRISE. Partner in EU project SYNENERGENE.
Audrone is professor in sociology and communication science at Kaunas University of Technology, research group “Civil Society and Sustainability”. She gives lectures and conducts research on environmental behavior and attitudes, social perceptions of climate change, environmental and technological risk perceptions, risk communication, sustainable development and welfare studies. In 2019 Telesiene has been elected as chair of research network on ‘Environment and Society’ in European Sociological Association. She leads projects, e. g. on social perceptions of climate change, climate change education and establishment of experiential European virtual research institute.
Rares Halbac-Cotoara-Zamfir currently works at the Department of Hydrotechnics (HYDRO), Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Rares does research in Meteorology, Hydrology and Climatology. Their current project is ‘Practici inovative in managementul sustenabil al terenurilor dedicate zonelor afectate de schimbarile climatice.’
Lihong Huang is a research professor of Youth Research Unit at NOVA – Norwegian Social Research, Oslo Metropolitan University. She holds an M.A. degree in Education (1996), an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. degree in international education (2005) from Stockholm University, Sweden. She has extensive research experiences on youth, their attitudes, behaviours, educational achievement and mental health. Her current work includes 1) several ongoing research collaborations with China, Denmark, Poland and Sweden, 2) teaching quantitative research methods in classes of master students at teacher education department of HiOA, 3) supervising master students at M.Phil programme of comparative and international education at University of Oslo, 4) the current national research coordinator of implementing in Norway the International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS 2016).
Daphne is a senior lecturer in the Department of Environmental Studies and Agriculture at Beit Berl College. She has a M.Sc. degree in ecology and Ph.D. degree in environmental science. Her current research interests are in environmental and sustainability education (formal and non-formal) and environmental literacy and citizenship. She led the accreditation of Beit Berl as a “green Campus” and is co-founder of the Annual National Conference on Environmental Education.
